Our Impact in 2017

In 2017, YOU helped United Way of Southwest Oklahoma funded partners and collaborative initiatives enrich the lives of 115,994 community members, including:
  • 16,214 clients who were provided with services at a local homeless shelter (Great Plains Improvement Foundation, Inc., C. Carter Crane Shelter Program and Salvation Army Shelter and Soup Kitchen Program) 
  • 43 individuals who had their taxes done for FREE ( Collaborative Initiative) 
  • 27,563 residents that were struggling with food insecurity were provided food (Lawton Food Bank, Emergency Food Program)
  • 3,000 individuals who received professional mental health counseling (Christian Family Counseling Center, Professional Outpatient Mental Health Counseling Program) 
  • 1,004 individuals who were given access to affordable medical prescriptions (Family Wize- Collaborative Initiative)  
  • 2,033 individuals and their children escaping the trauma of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking who were given safe haven (Marie Detty Youth and Family Services, New Directions Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Women's Shelter Program) 
  • 704 teens who were given a second chance and a clean court record after participating in education classes and completing community service (Teen Court, Delinquency Prevention Program) 
  • 5,158 youth that were provided with a book to build their love of reading and learning (Success By 6 Program)
