David Hegwood Day of Caring

About the David Hegwood Day of Caring

For the past 21 years, United Way has offered an array of opportunities for all to engage in, through volunteer efforts during its annual David Hegwood Day of Caring. It is a special day that gathers local companies/organizations, families and friends together to make a difference in our community. These are hands-on projects that involve volunteers spending a half or full day assisting the needs of local nonprofit agencies. Projects range from painting, landscaping, and minor construction to office work, cleaning, delivering items such as meals or clothing.

The Day of Caring was established in 1994 by the United Way of Lawton-Fort Sill to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism; and increase the awareness of agencies that meet the critical needs in our community.  This day demonstrates what people working together for the community's good can accomplish. Please join us to assist a broad spectrum of nonprofits that provide essential services to residents in Southwest Oklahoma.

This year's David Hegwood Day of Caring will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016.
