The David Hegwood Day of Caring, named after long time board member, United Way supporter, and community volunteer David Hegwood, allows for community members to support local non-profit organizations by spending a day volunteering their time. In 2017, 250 volunteers completed over 30 projects in Southwest Oklahoma. Generous donors including; Southwestern Medical Center- Breakfast, Whataburger-lunch, Kade McClure-Supplies, Johnson and Johnson Locksmith-Supplies, CDBL-Supplies, Great Plains Technology Center- Facilities, and Comanche Home Center-Supplies, made the day a huge success.
